Founded by the late Robert Jope Sr. in the early 1970s, South Shore Welding came from meager beginnings with Bob, and a pick-up truck and welding machine, fabricating railings in his backyard in Randolph, Massachusetts. With inspiration and grit, his business grew. In the mid 1990s, Bob was joined by his son, Brian, and together they forged ahead. Today, South Shore Welding, Inc. specializes in quality design, large scale, commercial, residential, and public projects. We set ourselves apart with our reputation for stellar communication with our general contractors. We answer the phone, and provide prompt pricing of change orders, and administrative support throughout the project.

STEVEN ANKENER

Steve comes to South Shore Welding, Inc. with a background in Marine Engineering, earning a bachelor's degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and working as an Assistant Engineer on several commercial oil tankers. He is highly skilled in estimating new work, and executing cost changes to existing contracts. He oversees the submittal of new projects, and coordinates with shop and field work to assure projects adhere to scheduled timelines, and optimal workflow is maintained.

With over 45 years of experience, Bill is expert in all facets of the steel fabrication industry. He has worked as a painter, welder, fitter, layout man, ironworker, draftsman, estimator, purchasing agent, project manager, and lends his extensive knowledge in upper level management positions such as chief draftsman, chief estimator, and Vice President.
